Jean Charles De Menezes

was shot 8 times by police.

it's not murder or manslaughter, but the police *did* breach health & safety laws.

an innocent man is dead, and he wasn't murdered, it's just the police didn't comply with healthy & safety laws.

lolz

how to write about Africa:

a quote:

"Never have a picture of a well-adjusted African on the cover of your book, or in it, unless that African has won the Nobel Prize. An AK-47, prominent ribs, naked breasts: use these. If you must include an African, make sure you get one in Masai or Zulu or Dogon dress.

In your text, treat Africa as if it were one country. It is hot and dusty with rolling grasslands and huge herds of animals and tall, thin people who are starving. Or it is hot and steamy with very short people who eat primates. Don’t get bogged down with precise descriptions. Africa is big: fifty-four countries, 900 million people who are too busy starving and dying and warring and emigrating to read your book."

new place

we moved into our new place on Saturday, for anyone who doesn't know me a) we moved to wales and b) what are u reading my blog 4? srsly....

anyway, we rocked up at about 4pm on Sat, and quickly realised the electrickery wasn't working BOOOO

anyway, saturday we spent lugging all our stuff into the flat, which is on teh 4th floor (i love lifts) but we had to stop by the time the sun went down, cuz we couldn't rly see much. we wandered across the road to this fab indian restaurant, where we were treated to some gorgeous foods and i managed to have a couple of asprins to try and get rid of my headache, which onmly worked for so long, by 9pm i had crashed out on our mattress on the floor.

sunday i woke up at 8 and started sorting out the square room, we put a torch in the bathroom, as it's the only room that doesn't has a window, and tried to arrange stuff. i managed to make some floor space in the square room, and then d woke up and we went to tescos for some naice breakfast (tesco breakfast ROCKS!) and then we got some fruit, rolls, peanut butter and nutsh. with no fridge, that's all we can really have in the flat!

we got back and did some more arranging, but we felt a bit stinky by then so we went to the local swimming pool and swam about for a bit, and then spent about half an hour in the showers. this was goooooooooood. srsly.

after some more arranging, it was time for chinese food, and then, since it's difficult to do anything in the dark, bed for us!

a quote i found

"feminism expects a man to be ethical, emotionally present, and accountable to his values in his actions with women - as well as with other men. feminism loves men enough to expect them to act more honorably and actually believes them capable of doing so."
