ill kiddie

i am not very well.

i am totally not used to this, i picked up a bad cough on friday and was too run down to fight it and then it became a full blown cold.

i guess this is what i deserve for this weekend, where i climbed along a wall, tried to sail a boat and build a bridge, built a raft and paddled it around, got soaked quite a few times, took a couple of cold showers, ate canteen food and didn't sleep enough.

tough as the weekend was the people on my course are stars and i am well glad i went!

but yeh, i'm gunna need a few days off work to recover from this. dave is making me a niace curry i can smell it which means it must be good!! :-)

mel visits soon and i would like to be over this by then, i should be anyway!

confusion

i got home at 9am. looked at comics (which i usually do when i get up...) and read some internets.... then made chicken nuggets & beans, (brunch?) curled up in the spare room to watch a dvd... went to sleep on the sofa around midday, after having been awake for 26 hours, woke up at 4pm, switched to bed, slept for 3 more hours, woke up... cup of tea... is it breakfast time? i was not made for night shifts.

slimy, yet satisfying

*random note - the titles of my blog posts are not spell checked by the comp the way the rest of my wordz are. as a result, i think a few of them are spelled wrong but hopefully u get me anyway. i refuse to believe that the above is spelled correctly, and am twitching at it. i am sure i am wrong. gaarraaggh!!

on with the post...

today there is a cheesecake in my fridge. does that sound rude to anyone or have i been left alone too long with kids that chuckle at... anything?

i love cheesecake, i think i have posted about it a few times before. my love of cheesecake is like my love of lemon iced cakes, but much much munch more.

i can't eat it... still. this is just *wrong* - right i'll explain... too much sugar (especially when eaten without anything else non sugary) makes me hyper as a 3 year old on smarties, and about half an hour later, i crash in a big way, hot/cold/tired/nauseous/headache - it's why on shopping trips i can top up with a chocolate bar, if i am tres hungry i will take the crisps instead. this is often the problem with going out drinking as well, i'm pretty sure i get half the buzz from the mixers!

i am usually pretty good with this, cuz i know exactly how rubbish the after effects are. feel pretty crap right now. wanna go to bed but am twitching. meh

so i fixed myself some munch.

in a hypercrazy mood i will cook anything and everything, and i crave more sugar cuz i think it will take me back to the hyperness -- so i have to be careful

i cooked:
a veggie sausage
the remains of some curly fries
a super noodle??
some peas
some mushroom soup that i used as a pasta sauce yesterday with sweetcorn

man that was some slimy food!

i just realised that this post is going nowhere in a grampa simpson kinda way so i will just conclude with 'it asome nice munch and now i am writing about it cuz i am bored and can't move cuz my legs ache'

Curry (Mild)

recipe for my latest trick, mild coconut curry with exciting stuff in it. innit. this one's probably full of fat but, meh!

mild coconut curry (dairy free, sugarfree, vegetarian, vegan, ok for people who cant eat spuds)

2 sweet potatoes
1 parsnip
some peas
(general veg really)

Boil these for 10 minutes or so

4 shallots
some veggie stock

Top n tail the shallots and take of the brown skins on them, keep them as big as you can - pop them in a pan to boil with about a litre of water and 2 cubes of veggie stock.

1 large white onion
half a garlic, cloves all peeled and squished
a nob (lol) of ginger
handful of dessicated coconut
couple of spoonfuls of curry paste
various spices
s0me oil

fry these until they smell a lot. then, pop the mix in your blender with

1 tin of coconut milk

blend until you get something that looks like a curry sauce. meanwhile, fry your 'meat' or substitute. if you are adding mushrooms, fry these too. once they are pretty much done, add the (drained) veg.

then pour the curry sauce over the whole lot and mix it about a little bit in a wok over a low ish heat. Get a ladle and spoon in the shallots, the stock they were in can either go in the curry to think it out if it needs it, or keep it cuz it will do wonders for a stew, or over sausage and mash/toad in the hole/roast dinner/anything.

keep it on the hob till you are sure it's all cooked nice. serve with whateveeer you like.
